About Oaklings

// I started Oaklings in 2020 following a long career in the media industry. 

 

A year of personal reflection finally inspired me to create my own brand where I would have the time and freedom to create beautiful products in line with the Danish design tradition.

 

When decorating, I’ve always preferred using natural materials. And I have a personal affinity for the restrained Nordic way of decorating spaces.

 

At the time, I was on the lookout for a high chair for my daughter, Saga. But I found it impossible to find one that was made in line with the classic design traditions I loved, and none seemed to fit in with the rest of our home décor.

 

This became the starting point for Oaklings and a new professional journey for myself.

 

Along the way, I have met and collaborated with amazingly talented people, each of whom has contributed to the brand and our furniture. I’m deeply humbled and grateful that so many people have understood and shared my desire to create high-quality designer furniture for children with a classic and timeless appeal.

 

I hope that our furniture will become beautiful elements in children’s homes everywhere and that our chairs will be loved and appreciated by their little users and their parents for generations.
