Our furniture is made from oak, an incredibly strong material. Still, there are a few things you can keep in mind to prolong the life of your Oaklings products.

Please refrain from exposing the furniture to large temperature fluctuations. We recommend that you do not place furniture in the immediate vicinity of heaters or wood-burning stoves, as the wood may dry out and crack.

Similarly, furniture should not be exposed to very high or fluctuating humidity, as this makes the wood more fragile and can lead to unwanted cracks. Humidity may also cause the wood to expand and shrink, causing the bolts on T-joints and footrests to loosen gradually.

The furniture is made from solid oak and has been given a matt lacquer finish which seals the wood.

We recommend cleaning your Oaklings furniture with a damp cloth with a small amount of detergent. Never use harsh ammonia cleaners, as this will gradually destroy the lacquer and expose the wood.
